About PJ Murphy Woodworking

PJ Murphy Woodworking is Ireland’s specialist in bespoke traditional, Georgian and Victorian styled timber windows and doors. PJ Murphy Woodworking has built a reputation as a trusted authority in the preservation and replication of Ireland’s heritage timber windows and doors. Combining modern insulation principles with conservation excellence PJ Murphy Woodworking produces fully customised, beautiful replications that add value and comfort to every aspect of your home. 

PJ Murphy Woodworking was established in 2008 by P.J. Murphy, a south Galway native and award winning woodworker. He is supported in his bespoke joinery by a team of four professional woodworkers.  

P.J.'s career achievements include:

* Winner, Irish National Skills Competition in Cabinetmaking, 2007.
* Represented Ireland in the 2007 World Skills at Shizoka, Japan in cabinetmaking and finished in 6th place.
* Winner (U21), National Wood Turning Competition, 2004 and 2005.

P.J. holds a higher certificate in Furniture Design and Manufacture from GMIT Letterfrack and is currently a part-time lecturer in woodturning at the Clare and Limerick VEC. He has previously lectured in Furniture Manufacture and Wood Finishing at the Dun Laoghaire College of Further Education.

P.J. has also worked as a joiner in San Francisco's most notable bespoke Joinery, "Fox Tail Hill Windows and Doors" throughout 2008.

P.J.'s team at his bespoke joinery team comprises four professional woodworkers. He is passionate about the heritage conservation and restoration of traditional, Georgian and Victorian styled timber windows and doors.

P.J. is a fluent Irish and English speaker. He is also a part time suckler cow farmer and a semi commercial beekeeper.
